Will children be allowed at ceremony and reception?
While we love our little kiddies, sadly no children under 13 will be allowed at the wedding event on Saturday. However, they're fully welcome at the resort as well as the Welcome Event on Friday!
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
Mountain venues take a little longer to navigate. We recommend arriving 30 minutes early so you have time to park, walk, and get settled.
Is the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outdoors, a 2 minute walk from the reception building which is indoors. Both will have incredible mountain views. October weather is beautiful but crisp, bring layers if you're concerned about it being chilly!
Is this an unplugged ceremony?
We kindly ask that you put phones away during the ceremony and be fully present with us. We promise to share beautiful photos afterward.
Will the wedding be affected by weather?
October is typically sunny with temperate days and cool nights. We have a backup plan for the ceremony and cocktail hour in case of unexpected weather, so the celebration will go on rain or shine.
What should I wear?
Mountain formal / fall cocktail attire. Make sure you bring layers for the evening!
What time will the reception end?
Late enough that you won’t want it to 😉
Which airport should I fly into?
Either Denver International Airport or Colorado Springs Airport work great. See our “Things To Do” page to turn the drive into an adventure.
Do I need to rent a car?
We strongly recommend renting a car for the weekend. While public transportation is available from Denver International Airport to Buena Vista, it can take 4–5 hours and still requires a short drive to the resort. Having a car will make the trip far easier, and lets you enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery along the way.
Is the drive difficult?
The roads are paved and very scenic. No special vehicle required, just take your time and enjoy the views.
Will my phone have service?
Service can be spotty in the valley. While there's typically service across the most of the drive for the major providers, it wouldn't hurt to download your maps offline before driving in.
Do I have to stay at Mount Princeton?
No, but we highly recommend it for the full experience. There are also great options in Buena Vista and Salida.
Can I use the hot springs if I’m not staying at the resort?
Yes! If you stay at the resort, day passes are included from the full day of arrival through the end of day of checkout. If staying elsewhere, day passes are available for purchase and rates for the pools are $45, and $5 for towels per adult, per day.
What is there to do at the resort?
Hot springs, hiking, river views, and total relaxation. Staying overnight at the resort gives you full days of hot spring access from arrival through end of checkout day, plus complimentary fitness classes, towels, and seasonal gear rentals like bikes, snowshoes, or cross-country skis. You also get 10% off spa treatments and access to courts and resort activities.
What is the elevation? Will I feel it?
We’re at ~8,250 feet. Drink extra water, take it easy the first day, and maybe watch how cocktails affect you as you enjoy the views.
Can I bring a plus one?
Invitations will be sent closer to the wedding, and you'll be notified of your plus one status then. Otherwise, we’re keeping the celebration intimate.
Will there be transportation between hotels and the venue?
We're currently investigating utilizing one of the local rafting company's buses (the yellow kind) for transportation between the resort and Buena Vista in a central drop-off location. More to come on that soon.
